About the Image:

The North Star Dyke in Ballycastle, looking over to Rathlin. Happy with this, incredibly low cloud with a break of Sun to light headland. Loving a longer lens these days.

Ballintoy is amazing! Walking past the harbour and over to the Elephant Rock will, 100% make you feel connected to nature. At night this place comes to life, rabbits scurry, birds fly home from the sea to rest.. just wow!
Being back doing fairs lot of people have asked for my view of Ballintoy... this is it. I have been down this way before, but never on a clear night like this. Setting up my camera at the Elephant Rock, I was gifted with the kind of sunset I love. The sun was setting under a formation of clouds that were being highlighted by the setting sun and showing all of their detail to me, as the sun dipped under the horizon the clouds dissipated leaving a clear night sky where I could see the milky way in all of its summer glory. blending these images together has taken some time but this is an incredible image that I'm very proud of.

About 'Coordinates°’

'Coordinates°’ is an epic collection of vistas set around the North Coast all images are titled with the precise longitude and latitude from where it was taken. If you type the coordinate number into google you will get directions which will allow you to go and see the location for yourself. My background is as a printmaker so instead of using one static shot of an image or limiting myself to one exposure, I use multiple images taken over sometimes 5hrs of the same scene and combine these images to create the magical compositions you see today.

People respond to the magical and creative nature of this work, the stars, the sea, the use of colour and composition.

The subtly textured, smooth base paper contains no optical brighteners and has a silky, smooth surface texture with a beautiful feel.
