About the Image:
I travelled down last year to Fanad Head as I wanted to take this photograph with an idea in my head of not what is in front of the camera but more what is possible to imagine. Compositionally, I wanted to show the lighthouse flashing, the Milky Way coming down to a point of the lighthouse to help guide the eye and help focus it on Fanad Head Lighthouse. All I had to was wait, and enjoy my surroundings with my camera.
Pulling this image together has been a lot of work and I have been waiting to publish this for some time. I'm excited to get it printed in my new A2 size printer as I think this will show the quality and detail of the image at its best.
About 'Coordinates°’
'Coordinates°’ is an epic collection of vistas set around the North Coast all images are titled with the precise longitude and latitude from where it was taken. If you type the coordinate number into google you will get directions which will allow you to go and see the location for yourself. My background is as a printmaker so instead of using one static shot of an image or limiting myself to one exposure, I use multiple images taken over sometimes 5hrs of the same scene and combine these images to create the magical compositions you see today.
People respond to the magical and creative nature of this work, the stars, the sea, the use of colour and composition.

Paper:
My smaller sizes are printed on Fujifilm professional pearl 320gsm has a smooth surface structure with the unique pearl-coating. This natural white paper - is free of OBA's and reminds of a natural white baryta paper.
My large prints are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin, a natural white FineArt paper made of 100% α-cellulose that has been refined with a special inkjet coating for FineArt applications. The subtly textured, smooth base paper contains no optical brighteners and has a silky, smooth surface texture with a beautiful feel. The satin-gloss premium coating guarantees exceptional print results with intense colours, deep blacks and outstanding sharpness. The barium sulphate within the coating makes FineArt Baryta Satin a viable alternative to analogue baryta paper.
